The girls decided to write short stories today, and R (age 8) spent some time explaining her idea of a story line to E (age 11).
Then E said, “R, I just don’t see how you would be able to fit all of that into a short story.”
R replied matter-of-factly, “Small words. Big paper.”

“After tonight, Mommy will be on the downhill side to 70.” That’s what M said to the girls last night at dinner time.
It’s true, today is my Birthday, and I am now 36.
It’s been a really nice day so far. Before I even woke up, the girls cleaned the school room, and their bedroom, and made cards for me… R even wrote my name and hers all by herself. M made a card for me too and also made me breakfast and had Paul Simon playing even though he can’t stand Paul Simon (now that’s sacrifice!). And before I even wrote this post, my friend Elizabeth called me, and my friend Ursula sent me an e-card, and I got a card in the mail from my parents.
I am told that there will be cake tonight, but they all swear they couldn’t find anything good as far as any gifts for me. Even though I don’t believe them, it would still be okay because M said that he will do all of the dishes tonight.
So, now I am going to shut the computer off and enjoy the rest of the day. (o:
Since we were gone all summer long and the girls each had a birthday during that time, some friends of ours wanted to give E and R a little pink hat birthday party this past weekend. They were in little girl heaven (well, heaven yet still full of sin!).
They each had their own cake. R picked chocolate with chocolate frosting and M & M’s, and E picked pink cake with blueberries and pink icing with sprinkles and M & M’s (yes, she really is a complicated child). My friend L had a huge selection of pink hats for us all to wear (well, M and her husband didn’t participate in that part), ordered Chinese food, and opened a few (beautiful) presents. It was so incredibly nice of them to do all that! We all had such a nice time.
This picture was taken in Atlanta especially for the Dixon’s. (I thought you guys would enjoy this.) (o:
Some more pictures from our summer away from home…
It’s always good to see the A’s, and it’s always good to eat good Mexican food. Here we are doing both.
Just incase you didn’t see from the video how bored the poor man-child was, here is a clearer shot:
Maybe when he gets older he’ll enjoy sitting at a table with a bunch of girls around his own age. (o:
